Europe Breakdown
The appeal of talking your vehicle on a trip to Europe
is immense. No worries about limiting your baggage, flight check-ins,
fixed schedules etc, you really are free to roam the open road.
However this
dream can turn quickly into a nightmare if you have an accident or if
your vehilcle is stolen. How would you cope if you had young kids in the car!
Our Europe Breakdown policies have been specifically built to cover all
eventualities that may befall you abroad. From needing roadside
assistance to getting a tow to a local garage. From overnight hotels or a
replacement car, to raising a bail bond or providing legal funds to
defend yourself in court, the potential for disaster is high. Below are the definitions of the types of vehicles we cover and any limitations regarding each vehicle.
This Green Flag Europe Breakdown policy defines that this policy will cover any vehicle registered in the United Kingdom which is under 15 years old since first registration which your party are travelling in during the period of insurance as shown in your certificate, provided it: 1) Is either a Car, 4x4, Light Van, camper van, motorised caravan, or motorcycle or motorbikes privately registered in the United Kingdom. This may include a hired vehicle provided you have the hirer’s permission.
2) Carries no more than the number of persons recommended by the manufacturer (and for whom seats are provided) with a maximum of 8 persons including the driver.
3) Does not exceed (including any load carried) the following gross vehicle weight and dimensions: 3,500kg in weight, 8m in length, 3m in height and 2.3m in width.
4) Is serviced, maintained and operated as recommended by the manufacturer and holds a current valid MOT certificate if applicable.
5) Is a caravan or trailer of standard make that meets The Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1978. The caravan or trailer should be fitted with a standard 50mm tow ball and fall within the maximum size and weight restrictions as shown above. Cover for the caravan and trailer will be honored if it is being towed by the insured vehicle at the time of the incident.
