As vehicles getting older they are more liable to encounter problems and so the underwriters, Fortis have imposed age restrictions on the policy. Our single trip european breakdown cover provide breakdown cover for vehicles up to the age of 15 but they must have completed their return to the UK before their 15th birthday. The annual multitrip european breakdown cover policy can be bought by cars up to and including 10 years old. European Breakdown Cover is from the start date and expires a year later and cover will be provided even if the car has turned 11

If I book a European Breakdown Cover policy online, what do I receive?
Having paid for a European Breakdown Cover policy online you automatically receive 2 emails.
The first is the confirmation for the amount you have paid. This will include the price for your policy and will include addtional charges such as postage costs and credit cards fees.
The second email is the confirmation of your policy certificate. The covering email has a link to the full policy wording and has attached to the email a PDF file. This PDF policy certificate provides all the details relating to you and your journey and describes in detail what numbers to call in an emergency. We advise that you print both the policy wording and the policy certificate and carry them safely in your vehicle.

I am towing a caravan, what is the max length?
The Green Flag European Breakdown Cover policy defines that a caravan or trailer should be of a standard make that
meets The Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1978. The
caravan or trailer should be fitted with a standard 50mm tow ball and should not exceed
(including any load carried) the following gross vehicle weight and
dimensions: 3,500kg in weight, 8m in length, 3m in height and 2.3m in
width.

Who is covered on this European Breakdown Cover policy, the vehicle or driver?
In the policy wording of this European Breakdown Cover policy there is reference made under all sections to "You" and "Your" vehicle. Under the policy definitions this is defined as " The person shown on the certificate, or any person driving the insured vehicle with your permission"
So in reality we insure the vehicle and anyone can drive and be insured providing they are the owner or have the owners permission.
